NEW recruits Christian Jolley and Gregor Robertson could both make their Grimsby Town debuts at Eastleigh tonight (7.45pm).

As reported online at www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/sport yesterday, Mariners boss Paul Hurst completed a double swoop for the duo.

Signing until the end of the season, Jolley and Robertson are now both expected to be part of the matchday squad at the Silverlake Stadium.

The signing of Jolley was made possible thanks to a cash injection from lottery millionaires Lee and Sue Mullen – also see front page story.

While Town's new pair only met their team-mates yesterday, Hurst knows they are ready to help ignite the promotion charge.

He told the Telegraph: "With these two coming in, we have really got some great options on board.

"It gives us much more balance and, even though we were already in good shape, the squad looks much stronger – so we're delighted.

"Ahead of tonight, I will have to weigh up what's best for the team, and will have a little chat with both of them.

"Sometimes you want to ease players in, but I get the sense they both want to hit the ground running and make the most of the opportunity.

"They are joining a team in decent form, and we have got a buzz about us – so I'm sure they will fit in straight away."

Jolley arrives at Blundell Park having been released by League Two side Newport County last week.

Meanwhile, Robertson heads into town from Northampton – having previously been a team-mate of Hurst at Rotherham, and Town's assistant boss Chris Doig at Nottingham Forest.

Hurst added: "I'm sure the fans remember what Christian is all about, and the threat that he poses.

"As with a lot of these situations, it wasn't straightforward – but we eventually got there and we are delighted.

"At one point it didn't look like it was going to happen, after the initial contact.

"We didn't think we would got it across the line, but a lot of hard work has gone in and Mr Fenty deserves a mention as well."
