TOP scorer Lenell John-Lewis is almost certain to be back in the Grimsby Town XI at Eastleigh tonight (7.45pm).

The 15-goal frontman missed the weekend victory at Nuneaton, but has been passed fit to travel for the crunch Conference encounter.

John-Lewis could replace Jon-Paul Pittman in the Town side, after the US-born striker was ruled out through injury.

Meanwhile, Scott Brown (knee) and Aswad Thomas are both missing, but there is some brighter team news elsewhere.

Scott Neilson heads to the Silverlake Stadium, along with new recruits Christian Jolley and Gregor Robertson.

It means Mariners' boss Paul Hurst has plenty of options for the clash with one of his side's promotion rivals.

He said: "Lenny has trained and he has been given the green light.

"I will have to have another chat with him, as he was struggling at the weekend.

"We had to err on the side of caution, but he will travel with us.

"And if Lenny says he is right, there is a good chance he will be in the team.

"Scott (Neilson) travelled on Saturday, having only had one day's training.

"He did some work before the game, and has had another training session yesterday.

"Scott will travel with us, and we are hoping he will be available."

On Town's absentees for the league clash tonight, Hurst added: "We've just got JP out, with a hamstring, and then Scott, who is just feeling his knee.

"He has tweaked his ligament, and it's difficult to put a time frame on that one.

"There's no real concern in terms of it being too serious.

"It might be Saturday, or another two weeks, and he will be a miss because he's done well for us."
