CAN you help put young people in the market for success?
Lake Marketing & Events is among the local firms who have signed up to the Grimsby Telegraph's Your Life: Your Future campaign.
As reported, the initiative is encouraging employers to give young people work experience, so they can go on to paid employment.
Lake Marketing & Events, which is based at the Enterprise Village in Prince Albert Gardens, Grimsby, has only been trading for seven months but is now looking to expand – and could offer an apprenticeship to a young person who does work experience with them.
The firm will be taking on two young people as part of the campaign, who will be involved in designing and printing graphics and business cards, as well as other promotional merchandise, such as mugs, pens and clothes.
The company also specialises in website design and vehicle graphics.
Marketing director Steve Rusling said: "We have been trading for seven months and it is going really well.
"We are now looking at expanding the business with an apprentice.
"We want to get a couple of people on work experience to see if anyone is suitable.
"We are looking for someone who will be able to do filing, work on a computer and do spreadsheets.
"They won't necessarily already have these skills, but it would be an advantage.
"It has got to the point where we have so much work coming in that we can't get out of the office to bring new business in.
"Having someone come in on work experience is important so we can see how they perform."
Web development director Richard Lake said: "I did work experience when I was younger and it makes you feel responsible and opens your eyes to the real world.
"We are looking forward to getting some young people in the office to help.
"We source all our materials locally so it makes sense to do the same with staff.
"I think the five 'Ps' are very important when going on work experience – be proactive, positive, punctual, polite and presentable."
