Freezing temperatures and snow expected in North East Lincolnshire next week

The winter's first blast of icy weather is set to hit North East Lincolnshire next week. While temperatures are likely to stay close to double figures during the day over the weekend, a chilly air mass originating from the Arctic will spread over the UK by Tuesday. Rain and snow showers will accompany freezing winds with highs of just 4C expected in the region heading into midweek. Temperatures are set to be close to freezing at night with widespread frosts probable. Despite a warning of snow, accumulations are unlikely in the Grimsby area. The bitter conditions come as national reports suggest Britain is set for a harsh winter similar to that seen in 2010/11 when large parts of the country, including North East Lincolnshire, were crippled by exceptionally heavy snowfall.
