AN entertainer who has appeared on ITV's Xtra Factor has praised an East Lindsey club for helping his career.
Lee Lambert, 19, appeared on the ITV2 show on Sunday which follow the main ITV1 X Factor programme.
His talent saw him get four 'yes' votes from judges Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne.
His audition coincided with his second season working at Club Tropicana, situated on the Golden Palm Resort in Chapel St Leonards, which finished around two weeks ago.
He first entertained holidaymakers at the club in 2011 when he was aged 17.
Lee said: "Performing at Club Tropicana has brought me on so much as a person. It has definitely played a big part in my career and really helped me for my audition for the X Factor."
Lee, from Leeds, performed for the judges in Manchester which was followed by an audition in front of a live audience at Wembley Arena.
He sang I Will Let You Go by James Morrison. After achieving four 'yeses' from the judges, he was congratulated backstage by presenter Dermot O'Leary and family and friends who were there for support.
Lee said: "It was just crazy singing in front of the judges. The whole experience was mental. It's been really surreal since it was shown on TV.
"Everyone's been ringing me and I've had more than 100 friend requests on Facebook."
John Hope, entertainment manager at Club Tropicana, said Lee performed as part of the main production show this year along with the club's dancers.
He said: "I was keen to bring Lee back for a second season. When he was 17 for his first season here, I saw the potential in him. He did a great job then and again this season to really entertain the crowd. His X Factor audition coincided with his time at Club Tropicana. I was pleased he was entering it – you only get one chance at a break like that."Follow us on Facebook and Twitter
