WITH the confirmation of Rob Scott's sacking, thoughts have already turned to who could assist the now-sole boss Paul Hurst.
Throughout his managerial career, Hurst has always worked alongside Scott as a joint manager but he is now faced with the prospect of going it alone.
But, he will, one would assume, be hoping to appoint an assistant to help him with the day-to-day running of the club.
Some have suggested that the club already have a ready-made candidate in the newly-appointed head of Youth Stuart Watkiss.
Watkiss worked as assistant to Graham Rodger, Alan Buckley and Mike Newell during their time in Blundell Park's managerial hotseat.
He has also been in caretaker charge of the Mariners on a couple of occasions.
It could be a sensible appointment, and judging by some of the comments following Scott's sacking, a popular one in some quarters of the Town supporters.
But there are also those who still hold his unsuccessful spell as caretaker manager in 2008 against him.
Furthermore, whether he could – or would want to – combine the role of assistant with that of Youth boss is up for debate.
Chris Doig is also another early name that's been thrown around, given the fact that the Scot has taken on some coaching responsibilities at Cheapside.
But whether Town would want one of their main centre-halves taking his focus away from his playing responsibilities is another consideration.
What do you think?
