SOPHIE Walker and Holly Clyburn will take a well-earned rest ahead of their next Ladies European Tour event – the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open.
The pair, from Humberston and Cleethorpes respectively, capped off a hectic week with top-ten finishes at the UniCredit Ladies German Open on Sunday.
The area's professionals both finished on two-under par during the rain-hit event at the Golfpark Gut Häusern near Munich.
After a full opening round on Thursday, torrential rain heavily disrupted the tournament.
This wet weather would not allow the full field of 126 competitors to play the second round on Friday and therefore after the cut, a field of 70 played a reduced round the next day.
The weather on Saturday evening and throughout Sunday meant that no further play was possible and a play-off to decide the winner was held at the 15th hole on Sunday.
Spaniard Carlota Ciganda took the honours from Charley Hull thanks to a birdie at the par-three.
Although the downpour made for a frustrating few days in the clubhouse for Walker and Clyburn, there was good news from the event sponsors UniCredit – who agreed to pay the full prize fund rather than the contracted 50 per cent.
Clyburn and Walker carded identical rounds of 70 and 35 to finish in a large group of players in equal-ninth.
After only completing the Deloitte Ladies Open in Holland four days earlier – an event which Clyburn won – the pair have a welcome two-week break from action.
They now head to the Golf Resort Tale in Slovakia for the next event, starting on Thursday, June 20.
