MORAN Travel have taken the Faulkners Audio Visual & Domestic Appliances Louth Billiards & Snooker League Team Knockout title after beating Marris Carpets 4-3 after a two-legged final.

Leading 2-1 after the first leg, the hosts increased their advantage, courtesy of a victory by Ray Charlton.

That meant Carpets needed to win the last two games to take the honours, but despite Brian Copeland keeping them in with a chance, Harry Putland won his match to give his side the victory.

Going into the final week of the group stages in the Jubilee Snooker Teams Knockout, and no team is guaranteed a semi-final place.

At the Cons Club, Dales Poultry & Game have a four-point lead after both Craig Shaw and Jack Westerby won in their 8-4 victory over J Melton Painters.

Harness & Cooper Joiners and Kitchen Solutions are still tied in second-place after their 6-6 draw. Craig Young put the visitors in front, but Steve Taylor immediately replied to salvage a draw.

Seymour & Castle may have given their cup hopes a lifeline after thrashing Don Noble Bookmaker 10-2.

Sean Fieldsend, Bob Strathern, Simon Godfrey, Lee Rankin and Steve Swallow all gave their side a glimmer of hope as Brian Leese replied for the hosts.

It is looking good for Louth Building Supplies, who top the Town & Country Club group after their 8-4 home win over Louth Travel Centre.

Pete Beeton, Kyle Johnson and Derek Adlam put their side in line for a last four spot as Ray Beszant pulled two frames back for the away team.

And Castaline look likely to claim a semi-final place, despite only drawing 6-6 with NT Shaw Citroen.
