SAMSUNG Honda are ready for some "cracking racing" as the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship roars on to Thruxton this weekend.

Qualifying for tomorrow's two races at the circuit takes place this afternoon.

And the Louth-based team have high hopes of repeating last weekend's double podium success in Round One at Brands Hatch.

New-boy Alex Lowes came second in both races, while returning three-time BSB champion Ryuichi Kiyonari, below, grabbed eighth and fourth place finishes after a year out of the series.

The team's Motorpoint British Supersport Championship contender Jason O'Halloran is also aiming to get his campaign on track after crashing out in Kent.

Team boss Havier Beltran insists the line-up are full of confidence heading into Round Two.

"The team is eager to get to Thruxton this weekend as in the past we've had some strong results there and the nature of the circuit always produces some cracking racing.

"Everyone is really motivated to have another good weekend after a positive start at Brands Hatch last weekend.

"We want to carry the momentum from the previous round and continue the progression again this weekend in both the Superbike and Supersport classes with all three riders."

With the Samsung Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade reaching speeds of up to 180mph at the high-speed circuit, Kiyonari is in a positive frame of mind.

"I'm looking forward to it because it's very fast and it's been a good track for me before," said King Kiyo.

"I want to move forward again so we will be trying very hard to make it happen."
