ON INJURIES…
" They're all not bad – that's probably the best way to describe them. If it was a must-win game tonight, we'd probably be able to put them all out – apart from Shaun Pearson. I think he's the only one who is definitely not able to play. I'd like to think that he'd be available for Tuesday but, again, that's not a definite. There are no guarantees and for us, it's about making sure he's available for the first play-off game. It's an improving picture and, in the position that we're in, it means that we won't be playing players who need those extra couple of days rest in preparation for the games that are ahead of us. Craig (Disley) trained yesterday and he was much better. I think it was a culmination of getting two or three knocks on the night (Tuesday) but he hasn't had too much of a reaction to that and he's happy with how he's feeling – the sensible option may be to leave him out."
ON IAN MILLER…
" He's all right after taking that knock to his head – he's too good looking for a centre-half anyway! He needs a few more cuts and bruises so it's something a bit different for his missus to look at. Ian, pictured, is available for us tonight. I think he liked a bit of sympathy for coming off so early!"
ON DEREK NIVEN…
" My initial fear was that he'd injured his groin badly again on Tuesday, but I think he just stiffened up and he was beginning to get a bit of cramp. It certainly hasn't made it worse which is a big bonus to us and he's available to us tonight."
ON LIAM HEARN…
" He certainly gives us the option to start him now. We want to try and give him as many minutes as he's comfortable with. We don't want it to be a case of too much too soon but he does now give us the option of starting him and maybe withdrawing him later on in the game rather than putting him on later on in the game. It's a nice option to have and I'm sure he'll play and be involved in these games, providing he's injury-free.
ON LUTON…
" They're having an end to a season where their manager is looking at things and weighing things up. In that respect it's difficult to predict which team they'll play. They had a good win last time out and it remains to be seen whether that team can have a good end to the season, or whether he decides to have a look at different players and different combinations. I couldn't tell you what team they'll put out in terms of names. But what I will say is that it's on TV, it's against Grimsby Town and the fact we've already beaten them twice this season will be used as a tool to get them focused. I think hard-work is the basis to anything. I think when we've played against them this season, they've had parts of the game, but we've been organised, solid and our attacking play has been incisive. I don't think there's any particular secret to beating them. It's a different proposition for us to what it was in those games, but it's a match that we can go into with a bit of freedom, given the fact that we've secured the play-off spot."
ON THE FINAL LEAGUE GAMES…
" I think it's about getting those lads who need some games into the line-up and to take those other lads out of the firing line who need it. A lot of people speak of momentum going into the play-offs and I understand that. But it can also work as a negative – the lack of it can work against you. We're not too worried about that side of it and whatever happens between now and the play-offs, I'm not too concerned about. But what I do want to see is performances. We want players to say to us that they want to be in the line-ups for those important play-off games. But it's all about business as usual for us. I don't think we need to change much. It's another two weeks – that's all is left. And we are all striving to make sure that we're coming back from the summer break as a Football League club."
ON THE PLAY-OFFS…
" Genuinely, we're not interested where we finish in the play-offs. Whatever will be will be. There is a lot of talk about wanting the second leg at home, but the way things have been going for recently, we're better away from home. If we get the second leg away from home, we'll take that, but likewise, if we're back at Blundell Park for the second leg, then great, because we know we'll get a great turnout. Look at the teams – Kidderminster are probably the form-team of those that are in there at the minute. Newport are the ones that have gone under the radar in some respects and not a lot of people have spoken about them at length. We've got the upmost respect for them, what they've done as a team and their players. Wrexham we obviously know about and have players who have experience of the play-offs. I don't really see an out-and-out favourite. Kidderminster, if it is them, are the form team, but I have to say, I don't know how much that matters in the play-offs."
ON PROMOTION CHANCES…
" I think we've got as good a chance as anyone. Form is great on one hand, but it all depends on what happens on the day. We believe in the players that we've got – we've got some real quality here and that's why we're in the position that we are. We're quietly confident but that said, every manager that you speak to will have that inner belief."
