"I'M not interested in Forest Green – I'm only interested in Grimsby Town and winning at Dartford."
The words of joint boss Rob Scott ahead of what could prove to be a important evening for the Mariners tonight.
A victory in Kent would mean that anything less than a win for Rovers in their game with Hereford (7.45pm), and Town's involvement in the play-offs would be confirmed.
But Scott believes that even if Dave Hockaday's (right) men do manage to take three points tonight, they would still be 'very unlikely' to catch the Mariners.
And that's why he and fellow boss Paul Hurst will only be focusing on one result tonight.
"For us, tonight is only about winning our game, although we've never set up to do otherwise," he said.
"Hopefully we'll go out and get the goals and the points that we're looking for.
"I'm not really interested in Forest Green – I'm interested in Grimsby Town and going to Dartford tonight and getting a positive result and I don't mean a draw, I mean a win.
"Whatever happens elsewhere is beyond our control and we'll be going there tonight to get the win and put it to bed.
He added: "Even if we win and Forest Green win, I still think it's pretty unlikely they'll catch us.
"With nine points to play for, they'll have to win every game, hope that we don't pick up another point and make up seven goals on us."
Scott also revealed that if the Mariners do go on to seal a place in the play-offs, he and Hurst would take the opportunity to freshen up their squad during the run-in.
"We'll have to shuffle the pack to keep everyone fresh," he continued. "But only after we've achieved what we want to achieve and that is getting in the play-offs.
"I don't want to speak prematurely but if we do make it, then there will probably be changes in the coming weeks because players need a rest," he continued.
"It would be nice to confirm our place sooner rather than later, but if it goes on and on and on, we'll deal with it.
"But we'll look to get there first and foremost and then, if we do that, we need to keep playing to a maximum level – with whatever players are chosen.
"The players who are selected will have to look to put themselves in the picture to play if it comes to the play-off semi-final and hopefully the final.
"There's a lot of talk about momentum going into the play-offs, but for us it's about protecting our players for the games that are hopefully on the horizon.
"Once we've achieved the goal, we'll look at what we can do to prepare for those games."
