AHEAD of tonight's trip to Dartford, joint boss Rob Scott gives a round-up of all the latest issues from Blundell Park.
ON THE DARTS...
" They've had a fantastic season. To be where they are in the league and to have reached the semi-final of the FA Trophy, in what is their first season at this level, is fantastic. Tony (Burman) has done a fantastic job with the squad that he's got there and he has some good players. They're on a high from getting promotion last season and they'll be looking to finish the season in a positive way as we will be, going into what we hope will be the play-offs. They're a physical, well-organised team that have been together for a few a couple of seasons now in terms of the nucleus of the squad. So they know each other well and how each other plays. They're a good organised unit and added to that, they've got a good physicality to them. We'll certainly have to be on our mettle, there's no doubt about that."
ON RECENT RESULTS...
" I walked in after the game on Saturday and I was disappointed with a draw but then you hear the Forest Green result and the Wrexham score and all it turned into a much better day. You have to take things on their merits and we've had four games in a week and haven't lost any; we've drawn two and won two. We've picked up eight points in a week, which is pretty good going considering the previous month. We're pleased with how it's gone."
ON SHAUN PEARSON'S BOOKINGS...
" Shaun's on nine yellow cards now so we've got another two games before they are wiped clean by the amnesty on Sunday. It's dependent on the score tonight in our game and Hereford v Forest Green as to whether we rest him for the Luton game. We'll have a look at it. There's that many different outcomes, you would drive yourself mad trying to work them all out. The main focus is tonight and putting what we feel is the strongest side available out against Dartford. It's about getting the points that we need and then dealing with other matters after then. I think Shaun will be okay for tonight but then we'll have to see about Friday."
ON CLEVELAND TAYLOR...
" There's a good chance of him starting tonight. Cleveland has probably had more games than he has had training sessions with us. Because of the amount of games we've had, he hasn't been able to see how we play in training; he's had to learn on the job in some respects. I thought when he came on against Southport he did really well. He scored and he was a real threat and that will have given him a lift. Against Macclesfield, he gave us that little bit of experience out-wide, playing the little balls down the line to the forwards that we needed. He knew how we wanted him to play with regards to team shape. There's a good chance he could feature again tonight. But we'll have to have some more discussions about it."
ON THE PLAY-OFFS...
" We just want to get into the play-offs. We don't have a particular spot in mind because you'd drive yourselves mad looking at all the different scenarios. We'll take anyone because we feel we're good enough for anybody. There's always a lot of talk about being the 'form team' going into the play-offs, but those kind of games are unknown quantities. All three games, if you manage to get that far, are cup finals and that's how we'll be treating it."
