Rail tickets are to be given a full redesign for the first time in over three decades to make them simpler for passengers.
The facelift will see tickets include key data such as station names, ticket descriptions, permitted routes, time restrictions and validity information - presented in clearer, larger print without the usual complicated jargon.
Those paying for an advance fare for their journey will soon be handed just one ticket rather than the previous two, according to The Times newspaper.
The Rail Delivery Group, an industry body that works with train companies and Network Rail, said the idea would help make fares "simpler, easier and clearer".
