GRIMSBY Town have recorded a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Nuneaton this afternoon.
Second-half goals from Jon-Paul Pittman and a late second from Ross Hannah were enough for the Mariners, as they made it back-to-back league victories.
Pittman went the closest for Town in a goalless first half when he cut in from the byline and rattled the byline after Town had huffed and puffed in the first 45 minutes on a rapidly deteriorating pitch.
But the American was on target six minutes after the restart when, after Ollie Palmer had rattled the post, he tapped home the rebound.
And Town made the points safe two minutes from time when, after Toto Nsiala had headed down from Paddy McLaughlin's deep corner, Hannah turned home from a yard out.
