A Lincoln chip shop has been crowned as the nation's best, while Cleethorpes was seemingly shunned.
Lincoln's Burton Road Chippy won the Independent Fish and Chip Restaurant of the Year Award at a national awards ceremony.
As well as that award, the business also scooped the regional Independent Takeaway Fish and Chip Shop of the Year Award, the Staff Training and Development Award and was a finalist in the NFFF Fish and Chip Quality Award Champion Award.
The awards event took place at the Lancaster Hotel, London, this week.
Neither Cleethorpes, the natural home of fish and chips, nor Grimsby, were represented.
