TRAVEL: Major disruption on East Coast mainline trains after engineering works overrun at London Kings Cross station

Passengers are being warned of major disruption on the trains after engineering works overran leaving no access to London Kings Cross station.

There will be no trains between Finsbury Park, in north London, and London Kings Cross today (Saturday) because of the works.

Passengers are being advised to postpone their journeys if possible.

Trains will start and terminate at Finsbury Park.

    East Coast Trains is running an amended service to and from Finsbury Park, with a half-hourly service departing Finsbury Park at 30 minutes and on the hour to Leeds, Newcastle and Scotland. A train shuttle service is also running between Peterborough and Leeds.

    Passengers with a ticket for travel today will be able to use it on Sunday or Monday.

    First Hull Trains said its 11.11am London Kings Cross to Hull service would start at Peterborough. A number of other services are running via St Pancras.

    Trains from Grimsby and Cleethorpes to Kings Cross are among those affected by the disruption.
