ROSS Hannah just loves getting on the scoresheet for Grimsby Town – even when he hasn't actually hit the back of the net.
The striker, who is at Blundell Park on a three-month loan deal from Bradford City, added two more goals to his Mariners' tally in Saturday's 3-0 victory over Braintree.
But the goal-hungry forward isn't satisfied with that total and is claiming one more – from Town's 5-1 win against Woking earlier this month.
He explained: "I've scored seven in 11 for Grimsby now – I'm a striker, I'm a goalscorer, so I always keep track.
"And I'm even counting Andi Thanoj's goal from the Woking game because it went down as my name!
"We've had a bit of banter in training because BBC and Sky said it was mine, so I'm taking it as my goal. The Grimsby Telegraph rightly gave it to Andi, but I'm afraid it's two against one in my favour!"
He added: "But seriously, I love scoring goals and have a target in mind at the start of each season.
"Obviously that depends on how many games you're going to be playing, though.
"I had a target this season but lack of opportunities at Bradford meant I've not been able to go for that.
"But I've come here and it's started really well, and I want to score every game, that's just me."
After braces against Hyde and Braintree, the 26-year-old now has his sights set on his first Town hat-trick.
And the player who once hit more than 50 goals in a single season for Matlock, believes Saturday's FA Trophy clash against another Northern Premier side, Buxton, could be his chance.
"Obviously when you get two goals in a game you want to push on and get a hat-trick," said the former Sheffield Wednesday Youth-teamer.
"Before my second goal against Braintree, Scotty Neilson took a chance off me. He was right to go for it, but if it had fallen for me I could have had a go on my stronger foot."
He added: "It's not going to be an easy game against Buxton and they're going to come here to really test us. I played in that league with Matlock, so I know Buxton really well and will probably get a few boos from the away fans because those teams don't like each other much!
"We've got a break from the league and hopefully we can have a good run in the Trophy.
"It's a great feeling to be top but I don't think a lot of the lads look at the table at this stage of the season."
