Angry families have hit out over cemetery regulations being enforced by North East Lincolnshire Council.
Almost 2,000 people have signed an online petition launched last week entitled Leave Our Babies' Graves Alone.
The council has sent letters to grave deed owners at Grimsby Cemetery whose graves "do not meet the council's regulations", urging them to remove ornamental chippings from homemade kerb sets.
