CAN you give one of this adorable mogs a home in time for Christmas?
Staff at the North East Animal Rescue are appealing to animal lovers to open up their homes and their hearts to some of the cats in their care.
Some have been at the shelter – which is currently unable to take in any more cats – for several months or more, while others have never had a proper home or owner to give them the love they deserve.
Among those looking for a lap to curl up on is Lucy, an 18-month-old black and white female.
The quiet, friendly cat came to the centre after living outside since she was very young and, despite only being young herself, she had already had 2 litters of kittens.
As a result, she is very shy, but loving and needs a quiet new home, perhaps with an older family.
Five-year-old Lady is also on the hunt for a new family she doesn't have to share with other cats – although she doesn't mind sharing a home with dogs.
She is also black and white and would love a new home in time for Christmas.
