KNOWING what to do when you leave school can be one of the hardest decisions you will ever make.
However, help is at hand thanks to the Grimsby Institute, which hosts open days throughout the year to give people a taste of exactly what's on offer there.
And in many cases, these sort of events offer the first glimpse of what the future may hold.
As part of the Grimsby Telegraph's Your Life Your Future Campaign, we are aiming to get 200 people from the Grimsby Institute and North East Lincolnshire Council's Change programme in work experience placements to inspire and put them on the career ladder.
We attended the latest open event at the Institute, alongside parents and prospective students alike, to find out more.
The Institute's marketing operation manager, Claire Bellamy, said: "There is so much choice out there now for young people.
"The Grimsby Institute predominantly offers a range of vocational courses and apprenticeships. We hold these tasters in an informal setting to give advice.
"It is important that each person makes the right decision and coming to an open event can help with that."
The next open events are on: Tuesday, January 15 from 4.30pm to 8pm; Wednesday, March 13 from 4.30pm to 8pm; and Thursday, May 30 from 4pm to 7pm (higher education).
