A POPULAR Cleethorpes restaurant could soon be transformed into a bar.
An application has been received by North East Lincolnshire Council planners to turn The Meze Restaurant, in High Street, into one of the resort's newest bars.
Bar grill, The Meze, currently employs three staff and about five part-time workers.
But the new bar will employ four full-time staff and 12 part-time bar staff.
The application has been made by D Fryman, of The Scratching Post company.
The venue has around 150 square metres of floor space.
The application has the new bar listed as The Bobbin, with a green frontage.
It stated the opening hours of the venue would be from 9am to 3am every day of the week.
North East Lincolnshire Council planners will assess the change of use of the property later this summer.
