SHARING the spoils of Freshney Place's success is home-grown jeweller, In The Pink.
The North East Lincolnshire gem has enjoyed thriving sales in 2012, undergoing a major expansion in the spring, when the Grimsby store doubled in size.
This past month has seen it add the much-coveted brand Versace to the collection.
Prices for Versace watches at In The Pink reach £2,700.
Store manager Katie Webb-Jones wanted to stock a brand that was not only luxury and high-end, but also globally recognised across the world.
She said: "We wanted a classic and timeless brand, a product that our shoppers will instantly recognise.
"Versace is exclusive to In The Pink, we are the only stockist within a 20-mile radius. We have already had lots of interest from shoppers.
"People have been stopping to look at the watches in our shop window and many women are asking their husbands to buy them a Versace watch for Christmas."
Elsewhere, TK Maxx is reporting sales up consistently between 10 per cent and 25 per cent, following a £500,000 refurbishment. A predominantly young customer base is widening, too.
Marks & Spencer and The Works both report healthy early Christmas sales, with a "facelift" scheduled for M&S next year.
Early Learning Centre's consolidation into Mothercare within Freshney Place has also been well received, with clothing sales improving as a result of increased footfall.
