Travellers who have set up camp on land off Weelsby Avenue in Grimsby have been ordered to leave by the council.
As reported, a group of six caravans and a number of other vehicles arrived on the site on Tuesday night.
A North East Lincolnshire Council officer then attended yesterday.
A spokesperson said: "A small group of travellers arrived on council-owned land by Weelsby Avenue on Tuesday night.
"An officer visited the site yesterday and carried out a statutory welfare check and advised the group that they face legal action if they do not leave.
"The law allows the council and the police to move people on when they set up camp on land without permission, regardless of who they are.
"This is the most effective legal course of action available and we follow this process whenever there is an unauthorised encampment on council land."
