FORMER Olympic hurdler Colin Jackson been at Tollbar Academy this afternoon.
The athlete-turned-presenter met staff and students at the New Waltham school and toured the sporting facilities.
He will be presenting prizes at the Academy's awards' night at the Grimsby Auditorium, in Cromwell Road, later tonight.
Colin said: "It's the first time I've been to the area.
"The facilities here are excellent and there's obviously lot of talent in the area.
"Good facilities are vital. You don't really recognise them when you're younger but they're vital in encouraging people to get involved in sport."
Casey Barber, 15, says she was "speechless" after meeting Colin.
She added: "It's very different to seeing him on the TV.
"Seeing what he has achieved in his sporting career means he is a real role model to me as I would like to be an athlete too.
"It makes me want to work even harder to get to the same level as him."
