SOME may still question whether Grimsby Town's FA Trophy run ultimately cost them last season – but Paul Hurst is having none of it.
After yesterday's draw handed the Mariners a First Round tie against Coalville Town on Saturday, November 30, the boss insists he'd happily take another cup run this season.
Town, of course, have a chance to extend their run in this season's FA Cup when they take on local rivals Scunthorpe tonight (7.45pm).
And Hurst says he'd be happy to see his side fight on as many as three fronts this season – as long as they keep their focus on the 'bread and butter' of the league campaign.
He said: "It would be nice to go on a bit of a cup run, whether that's in the Trophy, the FA Cup or both.
"Some people question whether last season's run in the Trophy hindered our league campaign, but I think the only game that it affected us in was against Nuneaton in the lead-up to the final at Wembley.
"Our finish to the season wasn't as bad as some might think – I've had a looked back at the stats and it wasn't that bad.
"If you offered me a chance of another trip to Wembley then I'd love to do that as I'm sure the players would, but, of course the league is the main priority.
On the Coalville draw, he added: "I remember going there for a pre-season friendly during my playing career and if I remember right, it's an open ground with a big pitch.
"It's obviously a winnable tie and I'm sure they'll be happy with the draw.
"It's the start of a journey that was very good to us last season and I'd love to have another go at it."
