The wait is over. The judges have finally whittled down the applications for our amazing £250,000 Big Lottery Fund Bonanza. We revealed the final 18 – which you can vote for NOW – last week and are profiling two of them each day – although you can vote for your favourite on any day. Full details on how to vote are in today's Grimsby Telegraph. You can vote as many times as you want, but each one must be on a separate voting form.
CAROL Prendergast, the chief executive of Green Futures, said: "We are a social enterprise group, and we are working with Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe to try to integrate green-fingered volunteers with children at the school.
"Anything that encourages young people to get involved with gardening is a good project.
"There have been issues with some people having their gardens vandalised, but "The Quad" growing space is within the school's boundaries.
"It will be a safe and secure area for volunteers to grow vegetables. We are a locally-run group and we have had a lot of success already, so we hope that our work with the Oasis Academy will help to benefit the whole community."
