TOP Grimsby sea angler George Smith was among those in action at the Filey Festival cod only match.
Smith – an England international – had six cod for 12lb.

The winner had five cod for 14lb, taken off Marine Drive at Scarborough.
The biggest cod was a 5.6lb fish caught off Flamborough.
There were also some very good bass caught up to 5lb. Wrasse also showed in numbers.

There have also been decent bass showing up in the catches.
This weekend, the winds are supposed to go northerly – and that could see the end of the smooth hounds for another year.
There are supposed to be lots of fish just outside the river so, hopefully they will start coming in. The whiting will be first to make a showing.
