A COMPETENT sea swimmer on holiday in Ingoldmells was found face down in a lagoon by her husband.
Margaret Cammack, 68, from Boston died on July 19 this year at Ingoldmells Point.
An inquest held at Spilsby heard that a post mortem showed that despite suffering mild heart disease, the cause of death was given as drowning.
The inquest heard evidence that Mrs Cammack had previously experienced some dizzy spells, resulting in sudden collapse.
Central Lincolnshire Coroner Stuart Fisher recorded a narrative conclusion into her death.
In written evidence, her husband Paul had said his wife first collapsed suddenly some years ago and again at Christmas last year at home.
He found her and managed to revive her. At the time she spoke of it as being 'one of her dizzy spells.'
On July 19, Mrs Cammack and her husband of 46 years were staying at their caravan at Ingoldmells Point.
The inquest heard Mrs Cammack was a competent swimmer who did not swim out of her depth.
Mr Cammack went for a swim towards the promenade and he anticipated his wife would follow.
When he looked around, he then saw her to be faced down in the lagoon.
Despite efforts and help from members of the public, she was unable to be resuscitated.
The inquest heard she was not on any medication and had not complained of any recent health problems.
