HUNDREDS of students are receiving their GCSE results today.
Your Grimsby Telegraph will be at all the local schools today, with results, pictures and videos posted on this website, and extensive coverage in tomorrow's paper.
Among those celebrating will be Humberston Academy students, where the best GCSE results ever have been recorded.
Principal Brian Sarahan said: "This has been a fantastic year.
"We have just received an outstanding Ofsted report for last year's academic results and to follow that with our best results ever just shows we deserve the award.
"We have got a brilliant set of results and the students have worked extremely hard to achieve this.
"The results show the joint effort from staff and the students. It highlights their commitment to learning and achieving.
"I have come to work at 7.30am to see students walking up the drive to go to extra sessions because they are so determined to achieve.
"That dedication is part of the culture we have created here at Humberston and that is why young people and their parents choose to come here because we are known for success.
"Helping top level students is fantastic but we also help students who are not performing as well to achieve great results too, and that is just as important."
Bethany Crook, 16, was eagerly anticipating her grades and was delighted to find she had achieved 13 A*s and As. She said: "I was extremely nervous.
"I really hope I can go on to study biology, chemistry, ancient history and law at Franklin.
"School has been really supportive and helpful – I really enjoyed it."
Rebecca Wells, 15, says her grades will hopefully let her follow her dream. She said: "I have got 13 A* to As. I hope to go to Franklin and study biology, chemistry, literature and Spanish.
"I then aim to go to university and study forensic science, which I have wanted to do for years.
"I have really enjoyed coming here, all the teachers have been really supportive."
And Andy Green, 16, said: "I got 10 A* to As, which is great. I can't wait to get to college."
Tollbar Academy is celebrating six years of continued GCSE success, as more than 80 per cent of students achieved five or more A*-C grades, including English and Maths.
Principal Stephen Moon said the results were "excellent, and a credit to students and staff at Tollbar who have worked so hard to achieve them."
In Maths, 89.4 per cent of students gained A*-C grades, with 84.4 per cent achieving English with A*-C grades.
A tremendous 96.2 per cent of students achieved two Science subjects A*-C Grades, and six students who took double languages all gained A* in both French and Spanish.
At Cleethorpes Academy, more than 60 per cent of students have achieved English and Maths GCSEs with Grades A*-C, with 55 per cent of students passing five or more A*-C Grades, including English and Maths.
For English students it is the third year running that more than 60 per cent have achieved A*-C Grades, with this year's figure reaching 62 per cent.
In Maths, 65 per cent have achieved A*-C Grades, an increase on the previous year. Science also improved, with 92 per cent of students achieving two Science passes A*-C Grades.
Principal Martin Brown said: "We are very pleased with our results. Students have once again worked very hard, together with their teachers, to achieve GCSE results that will enable them to gain access to higher education, and improve their life opportunities."
Caistor Grammar pupils are also anticipating a good day of results. Principal Roger Hale said: "The GCSE results are stunning and wonderful. Everyone has worked exceptionally hard."
