IF you go down to the woods today, you could help shape maternity services in the area.
New parents, as well as mums and dads-to-be, are being invited to share their own experiences of having a baby in North East Lincolnshire to help the team deliver better services for our local community.
The Maternity Services Liaison Committee (MSLC) is led by local families and with the help of health professionals keeps an eye on the services that the NHS provides for new and expectant families in our area.
The more local families involved the better and a family-friendly event is taking place today to tell mums and dads about the work of the MSLC and encourage them to share their own experiences and ideas. Children are welcome and the theme is a Teddy Bear's Picnic, so take a bear!
"The MSLC helps the local hospital and the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) monitor the services provided to expectant and new parents," explained Michelle Barnard, strategic lead – service planning and re-design, North East Lincolnshire CCG.
"The group is chaired and run by parent representatives and harnesses the views and experiences of people who are expecting or have recently had a baby to help us improve maternity services."
The fun and friendly event is taking place at Highgate Children's Centre, Trinity Road, Cleethorpes, today from 9.30am until 11.30am.
Mums and dads will have the opportunity to find out about MSLC and other ways they can get more involved with maternity and other family health services.
There will be healthy snacks and a teddy bear's picnic for the younger members of the family and children will get the chance to decorate a t-shirt that they can take home with them.
