Police still at houses at centre of violent assault

TWO houses at the centre of an investigation into a violent assault remained under police guard yesterday.

A 38-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was assaulted in Patrick Street in the early hours of Sunday and two men have been arrested.

Since then, scenes of crimes officers have carried out extensive searches of an address in the street.

Residents also claim a woman tried to get into the house late on Sunday night and shouted at the officer who was keeping an overnight watch on the property.
