THE volunteer crew of Cleethorpes RNLI lifeboat were called out yesterday evening to rescue a helpless dog.
Lifeboat James Burgess II was called out at 5pm to rescue "Goldie" a Rhodesian/ Staffordshire terrier cross from the strong currents of Humberston Creek.
The dog had been swimming strongly but she was making no way against the tide and it was clear she was quickly tiring. She allowed the crew to lift her into the boat.
The very grateful owner was pleased to be reunited with Goldie, who was none the worse for her lengthy swim.
