Linkage College, the longest-established, specialist further education provider in the country, is to celebrate its successful Ofsted result with an open event in Grimsby this coming week (Tuesday 7 May), inviting prospective students and parents to find out more about what it has to offer.
The College, which has a campus at Weelsby Road in Grimsby, caters for young learning disabled adults from 16 upwards. On the day, there will be student-led guided tours of the campus, a chance to meet staff, see lessons in action, take part in workshops and have an opportunity to find out more about new study programmes and funding changes. As well as young people and parents, the event is aimed at schools, parent groups, social services and careers advisors in North and North East Lincolnshire.
The College, which is run by the national charity, Linkage Community Trust, is now rated as good with outstanding outcomes for students following a visit by Ofsted in 2013. Its enterprise curriculum has also been praised by education inspectors.
Matthew Orford, College Principal and Director of Education at Linkage, says: "We've had a great start to the year with the Ofsted result, making us one of a handful of specialist colleges to date to achieve outstanding outcomes for students. This is a chance for potential students and parents to come and have a look at the top-performing college on their doorstep. It is also an opportunity for us to explain more about our work and how the curriculum is going to change."
