A FEMALE burglar and heroin addict has been jailed for two burglaries – one of which she claimed not to remember because she was so high on drink and drugs. Stacey Ford, 23, of Tunnard Street, was jailed for 15 months at Grimsby Crown Court after admitting the two offences. Prosecuting, Simon Waley told the court that on August 14, between 12am and 7am, Ford entered a Grafton Street property by smashing the window with a claw hammer then stole a television and a mobile phone Then, in September, while she was aware that police were looking for her, she visited a house in Hildyard Street but the resident's dog ran outside when she opened the door. While the resident was chasing the dog, Ford went into the bedroom and stole an iPhone that was on the bed. Heroin addict Ford handed herself in and admitted to selling the phone and TV from the first burglary. However, Mr Waley told the court: "She didn't remember her actions on the second evening, but told police that if she did steal the phone, she probably would have sold it." Mitigating, Michael Culshaw said: "She has attended knowing that you will impose a custodial sentence, but heroin has become such a problem that a period of detention might actually work in her favour." Judge Kate Buckingham said: "I hope you take this opportunity to try to get the help you need."
