Grimsby Town at Woking: Greg Fleming ready to step in for James McKeown

KEEPER Greg Fleming could make his third Grimsby Town start of the season tonight, in place of James McKeown.

The Mariners' number one stopper is struggling with a toe injury ahead of the penultimate match of the 'regular' season, at Woking.

With Town's top-five place confirmed, the joint bosses appear unlikely to risk their first-choice stopper ahead of the play-offs, with Fleming, pictured, on standby.

And McKeown is not the only Mariners regular who could sit out the clash.

"James McKeown took a whack on Friday night (at Luton) to his toe which is really quite sore and he didn't train yesterday so he is doubtful," confirmed co-manager Rob Scott.

"Shaun Pearson is still struggling and wasn't involved on Friday night because of a sore hip, and Andy Cook is struggling a little bit with a sore shin.

"Joe Colbeck is suspended, while Jamie Devitt was back in Ireland over the weekend because his girlfriend has had a baby, so hopefully we'll get him back.

"Aswad Thomas had to come off with a slightly sore hamstring but again should be okay for tonight.

"We're in a position where it's not vitally important to play what would be considered our strongest team for the next two games.

"That's giving people an opportunity, like on Friday, and they took it.

"They worked extremely hard and they made myself and Paul (Hurst) sit up and take notice of them, which is exactly what we want.

"There are a few carrying knocks and bumps and bruises, which is understandable at this time of the season, and we'll manage those players.

"But we've got enough strength in depth to not weaken anything by changing it around."
