Police seek witnesses to collisions in Grimsby

POLICE in Grimsby are seeking witnesses to two separate road traffic collisions in which those involved failed to stop. The first happened in Oxford Street at around 6pm on Wednesday, April 10 when a male pedestrian was hit by a white BMW with tinted windows. The man sustained grazing to the knee and elbow but did not require medical treatment. The car drove off without stopping to exchange details. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 referring to log 594 of 10 April 2013. The second incident took place on Bargate, Grimsby at approximately 10.40pm on Thursday, April 11. A motorist pulled out of the Millfields Hotel onto Bargate in his red Vauxhall Astra and hit a cyclist. The cyclist fell off his bicycle and rolled over the car bonnet. The car driver stopped to speak to the cyclist but the cyclist did not leave any details. The cyclist then got back onto his feet and rode away. He is described as white, 5ft 8in to 6ft tall and of stocky build. Police would like to speak to the cyclist and any other witnesses who were said to be in the area at the time, some of whom stopped their vehicles and got out to assist. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 referring to Log 792 of 11 April.
