A METAL sign on the former Haith's seeds factory on Park Street, Grimsby was removed by fire crews.
High winds loosened the sign and a passerby alerted Humberside Police.
Park Street was temporarily closed between Clerke Street and Oxford Street while firefighters useda hydraulic platform to get access to the sign.
The incident at around 1pm yesterday was one of a number of calls fire crews received in the borough caused by high winds.
Fire crew manager Jason Kirby said crews had responded to a number of toppled trees and telegraph poles.
Dust clouds from fields had also blown across the A180 reducing visibility for drivers.
