ROB Scott has hit out at Conference chiefs as Grimsby Town's hectic run-in threatens to derail their promotion hopes.
The Mariners have 11 league matches and a Wembley final to play before April 20.
And joint boss Scott believes his team are being unfairly penalised.
He remarked: "Wembley isn't the problem. It's the amount of games we've got to play in a short space of time.
"We've had a lot of games cancelled through no fault of Grimsby Town.
"All our home fixtures have been completed and not one has been called off, but we seem to be being penalised for other teams not having sufficient quality of pitch to play on.
"I saw something about Chelsea's 'Hell Week'. I'm sure with the facilities, staff, sports science resources they've got they'll be fine. Come up here and play the couple of weeks we've got!
"Newport have been grumbling on about the run they've got. We've got exactly the same and we're not getting much help from the league.
"The home team sets the precedent on what days you play on – I don't understand that. There are certain people who are making the rules who have probably never played the game.
"We couldn't get to Macclesfield through no fault of our own. We wanted to play on the next day but they weren't prepared to.
"Surely, that's where the league steps in. Apparently they couldn't get officials – yeah, right. And that's Macclesfield's decision. Why is it their decision?
"The two clubs should sit together and if they can't come to a decision then the league should step in.
"If it's feasible to play on a Saturday, then you play. But the Macclesfield manager didn't want to play on the Saturday, so therefore the game wasn't played.
"Again we didn't seem to get any guidance from the powers-that-be."
