AN APPLICATION to make the current Kimberly-Clark site more attractive to potential suitors has been submitted to North Lincolnshire Council.
The nappy-making factory is due to close by the end of this month, with the loss of 500 jobs.
In a move to attract investment in the Falkland Way site, Kimberly-Clark has asked to change the use of the premises from general industrial to business and/or storage and distribution.
The application from Kimberly-Clark states: "This will make the premises attractive to a significantly wider range of potential users and consequently the prospects of delivering alternative economic and employment-generating development will be maximised.
"Kimberly-Clark Limited has confirmed to the local planning authority its aspiration is to bring the property into productive economic development use after it vacates the premises."
