PAUL Hurst will be a happy man if Grimsby Town can replicate last season's performance at Cambridge United when the two sides meet again tomorrow.
Last January, the Mariners travelled to an in-form Cambridge United side and put in what the joint boss considers to be one of his side's best performances last season to grab a 1-0 win.
And while Hurst would take a win, however it comes, he admits he'd love to see his side hit the heights of last season's showing.
"It was one of our best performances," Hurst said.
"I'd love us to go there tomorrow and play as well as we did last season.
"We were against a team that was doing really well at the time and we managed to beat them 1-0 in what was a very good game.
"If we can perform along a similar theme tomorrow, that would be great.
"But if it's a scrappy, ugly win, we'll happily take that as well."
Town will come up against a different U's side to the one they faced a year ago.
There will also be a new face in the Abbey Stadium dugout after Richard Money took over from Jez George in October.
Hurst added: "They had a run where they only had one defeat in ten.
"From being at the wrong end of the table, they have been on a great run where they're starting to look at the play-offs.
"We know it will be tough but it's just a case of us looking to get the result.
"We've still got them to play twice this season, so it will be nice to put a marker down tomorrow.
"Away from home, our record is good and we're confident of going anywhere in the league and getting a result."
