This is such an exciting project that will give youngsters the chance to participate in an alternative sport. It keeps them active and diverts from antisocial behaviour in the area by giving them something positive to do.
There is a misconception that Parkour is dangerous but I don't believe this is true. It is no more risky than other urban sports such as BMXing or skateboarding, and let's not forget that people break their legs playing football.
At this new facility, young people will get proper coaching and learn how to do things in the proper way. More than anything though, I am just glad that we are diversifying the activities that we can offer young people in the area and giving them something a little bit different to try.
