A PRIMARY school is celebrating after it received a glowing report following an Ofsted inspection.

Greenwich House Independent School and Kindergarten, in Louth, was inspected last month and the report, published last week, has ranked it as a good school with outstanding aspects.

Principal Jennifer Brindle said everyone at the school was thrilled by the report.

She said: "I am incredibly proud of all pupils and staff who were part of the inspection and who displayed the true ethos that Greenwich House works to on a daily basis.

"We were also delighted that the recent media coverage of us using iPads to interact with different cultures was recognised by the inspectors.

"This was seen as one of the many new ICT opportunities given to the children here as a result of the investment in new technology, an area we have been addressing since the previous inspection."

The admiration the inspectors had for Greenwich House was highlighted by their comments in the report.

Comments from the Ofsted inspectors included "Evidence from lessons, pupils' work and discussions with pupils confirm that teaching results in their good academic progress and excellent progress in the development of their personal skills.

"Teachers and other adults form excellent relationships with pupils and are positive role models.

"Pupils are very well prepared for the future because they become well-rounded individuals with high academic and strong personal skills."

Greenwich House is privately owned and opened in September 1990.

The school aims to provide continuity for pupils, with a crèche, and two kindergartens housed in the same building as the school.

The school caters for more than 40 pupils, who are a mixture of full time and part time.

The school is holding an open morning today from 9.30am to 11.45am.

Figures were released by the Department Of Education this week revealing the best and worst performing primary schools in the area.
