A 30-year-old Grimsby man has been charged with sex offences following a complaint from a 14-year-old girl in Bridlington.
The man was arrested in Bridlington on Thursday on suspicion of indecent exposure and outraging public decency. The incident was reported at 8am on Thursday.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Cockerill, Public Protection lead for Hull and the East Riding, said: "This was a disturbing incident for the young girl subjected to this. I am thankful to her for the courage she showed in coming forward and reporting it to us so quickly.
"Incidents such as this are thankfully not as common as some would have you believe, but nevertheless they are unsettling for communities and we take them very seriously.
"I would encourage anyone who may be reluctant to report such things to the police to also have such courage. Unless we know about these incidents we cannot bring those responsible to justice."
Mark Thomas Yemm, 30, of Westerdale Way, in Grimsby, appeared at Hull and Holderness Magistrates' Court on Saturday and was remanded into custody. The case was adjourned to a date to be fixed. Keep checking for updates.
