MARINERS boss Paul Hurst praised the club's fans after making the trip to Gateshead last night.
The FA Trophy Second Round replay finally went ahead at the International Stadium, after two straight postponements.
And while the journey ended in a 3-2 defeat for Town (AET), Hurst was delighted at the support his men received.
He said: "I would like to thank the fans that came up.
"They were probably just about ready to leave when we got the equaliser.
"But despite everything that has gone on, with the postponements, 52 of them still made the trip.
"I know this competition is not anyone's cup of tea, so I really would like to thank them.
"They got behind the lads, and we certainly put in the effort for them."
See tomorrow's paper for more reaction from Hurst.
