Almost 150 drivers were caught for drink driving in the Humberside Police region in December.
The total was 142 motorists. That was out of more than 2,000 who were tested during the month-long drink driving campaign.
The number of those convicted is around 20 less in the same period the previous year.
Pc Barry Gardner, casualty reduction officer for Humberside Police said: "The message I wanted to get out to drivers is that no one should ever think that they might get away with it.
"I have attended many serious road traffic collisions caused by drink drivers and I can honestly say that it's never worth the risk to drink and drive."
He praised the number of tip-offs from members of the public about drink drivers.
In Lincolnshire 71 of the 1,640 breath tests carried out in December were drink drivers. In the same period last year in Lincolnshire 117 were convicted, according to figures released by Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership.
They showed 181 anonymous texts were received to alert police to drink drivers.
