MARINERS winger Scott Neilson is hopeful of being fit for Saturday's visit of Barnet.

The 27-year-old was injured against Macclesfield earlier this month, and was forced to sit out the Second Round draw on Saturday.

Aside from Aswad Thomas – who has been granted temporary leave from Blundell Park – Neilson, pictured, is the only injured player at the club.

And Hurst hopes he could return for Saturday's crunch TV encounter with Conference leaders Barnet.

Boss Paul Hurst said: "We're as we were really on the injury front.

"Scott is still not fit so he would have been unavailable to me tonight, but after that, we were okay.

"He tried training on Monday, but it was clear that he wasn't quite right. I don't think he's a million miles off, but he's definitely carrying a knock.

"He did some work in the gym with Dave Moore yesterday, so hopefully he's not too far away.

"The weekend is certainly a possibility for Scott, but we'll have to wait and see on that one."

Despite an injury concern of his own, Carl Magnay will feature against his former club, having made a welcome return to the team on Saturday.

Hurst added: "Carl has been training and has done well. There's always that bit of caution when you're coming back from an injury like that.

"He improved as the game went along on Saturday – he did a good job without being his eye-catching best."
