CRIME fell steadily towards the end of last year as the number of crimes reported dropped.

Data provided by Humberside Police shows 816 crimes were reported in the area in December.

That compares with the 881 reported in November, 856 in October and 815 in September.

Earlier in the year, 906 crimes were reported in April, 955 in May, 890 in June and 887 in July, before a fall to 762 in August.

Humberside Police superintendent Dave Hall said: "It is pleasing to see all crime steadily reducing in North Lincolnshire.

"This demonstrates the effectiveness of partnership work undertaken since the summer to address certain types of crime.

"This has included targeted force-wide operations where, for example, extra patrols have been deployed to areas of high demand, as well as public awareness raising initiatives with the provision of preventative messages.

"As we enter the new year, the force will continue to operate under the one-force model, cascading and delivering best practice across the entire area."

Some of the incidents reported in December include:

They included 103 incidents of violence with injury and 76 of violence without injury.

Criminal damage accounted for 110 of the reports received in December, while domestic burglary amounted to 84 reports and non-domestic burglary 72.

Information on thefts was also provided, with 65 shop thefts reported in December, along with 24 thefts of motor vehicles and 45 thefts from motor vehicles.

There were also 12 reports of robbery in December, according to the police figures.

Information on crimes reported is also available on the police.uk website, where a breakdown is given of incidents within a one-mile radius of postcodes and street or town names.

The website also allows users to select a wider area and search for crimes committed within it, as well as breaking down the reports by the type of crime.
