UPDATE: Welhome Road has been reopened.
Welholme Road in Grimsby was closed this morning following a two-vehicle collision involving a car and a taxi.
Police, fire and paramedics personnel are currently at the scene and the roof of the car has been cut off.
The incident happened near the junction of Farebrother Street and involved a black Suzuki and a taxi.
The roof of the car has been removed and the male driver has been taken away on a stretcher and has suffered spinal injuries.
Police closed off the junction and a small section of Welholme Road either side of where the accident happened.
