DANNY Parslow knows it's been a tough spell for Grimsby Town, but after sorting his immediate future off the pitch, he now wants to 'put things right' on it.

The 29-year-old now knows that he will be with the Mariners until the end of the season after York City agreed to extend his loan spell at Blundell Park.

The versatile defender has made 17 appearances for Paul Hurst's side – starting every game – since first arriving back in September.

Parslow says he's enjoyed every minute of his time with Town, but admits the last week and a half – which has seen them suffer two dismal defeats – has been tough to stomach.

Deputising at centre-half for the suspended Toto Nsiala, the Welshman was part of the 11 that lost 3-1 to Lincoln City before then slumping to a 2-1 defeat to Macclesfield.

He's taken some time to reflect on his own displays in those games and says he and the rest of the group are now eager for the chance to right those wrongs.

"The last ten days haven't quite gone for us, but there's certainly no mad panic," he told the Telegraph.

"I think we need to go back to what we was doing and there's enough experience in the group to get us back on track and get us back to winning ways.

"With Toto's suspension, I got slotted back into centre half in those last two games, and unfortunately we had two poor results.

"Of course, you look back at your own performance and look at areas when you could have done better, but it's important not to dwell and put things right again as soon as possible."

On the extension to his loan spell, the former Cardiff City graduate added: "I've been here a short while now so with my deal coming to an end this week, discussions were had and it was best for all parties that I stayed here for longer, so I'm delighted to get it sorted.

"I've really enjoyed my time here and I've been playing games.

"We've got a really strong squad and the objective is to get out of the league – that's something I've been fortunate enough to achieve with York City and it's something I want to do here.

"If I can help to add that bit of experience and know-how then hopefully we can push on and get promoted.

"The gaffer here has been brilliant since I arrived and I just need to make sure I repay him with performances whenever I go out."
