Heavy snow caused chaos on the roads with police in Lincolnshire dealing with 35 incidents overnight on Boxing Day evening.
Inspector James Trafford in the force control room said that most drivers had heeded warning not to venture out unless it was absolutely vital on boxing Day night.
"We had a large number of calls, particularly in the Lincolnshire Wolds area, to incidents caused by the snow on the roads in the county," he said.
"And we dealt with 35 road traffic incidents overnight, plus about the same number of calls again due to obstructions in the road caused by the snow.
"Thankfully, there were no serious injuries."
Firefighters were called to a collision on the A46 at Osgodby near Market Rasen at 7.30pm last night.
Crews using cutting equipment freed one casualty from a two-car crash.
Inspector Trafford urged motorists to take extra care on the roads as the snow thaw will lead to pools of standing water.
